Hi Therm® attends House of Lords Fuel Poverty event

We were delighted to attend the evening reception of the NEA hosted by Baroness McIntosh of Pickering at the House of Lords last night. It was a real privilege to be in the same room with so many people who share such drive and passion with regards to reducing fuel poverty.

We all knew that fuel poverty would rise due to the energy price rise last month but even we were shocked to hear the facts, over 6 million homes are now in fuel poverty, and this is expected to rise to 8 million in October.

The message was loud and clear that we need measures in place that will offer immediate benefits with long lasting effects, and we need them now, not in a years’ time. I’m sure the message hit home for not just us, but for others when Adam Scorer explained in his eloquently delivered speech how the state of fuel poverty is far more serious than just a crisis.

We must act now with real measures that will make a real difference not just a political plaster or financial token gestures.

Thank you to all at the NEA for the meeting and we look forward to supporting and working with you to achieve our goal.
